Charter RTU registered for cereal seed treatment

BASF Canada has received regulatory approval for Charter RTU, a new ready-to-use, water-based cereal seed treatment formulation to control a broad-spectrum of diseases in barley, wheat and oats.
In a release announcing the approval, BASF says the new formulation of Charter RTU will be available in a 2 X 9.3 L jug case and 200 L drums. It can be applied by commercial seed treatment plants or with on-farm gravity-flow or mist-type treatment machines. It can also be applied with "on the go" air seeder treatment systems.
In barley, Charter RTU is registered for use to control seed rot and seedling blight caused by Fusarium sp., true loose smut, false loose smut, and covered smut.
In wheat, the product is registered for use to control seed rot and seedling blight caused by Fusarium sp., loose smut, and common bunt.
In oats, Charter RTU is registered for control of loose smut, covered smut, seed rot and seedling blight caused by Fusarium sp. It also suppresses Fusarium crown and root rot, Cochliobolus (common) root rot and seedling blight caused by Cochliobolus sativus.
In each of the crops, the product label of Charter RTU also includes use for suppression of fusarium crown and root rot, cochliobolus root rot and seedling blight caused by Cochiliobolus sativus.
CropLife Canada conference in Calgary Dec. 1-3

Working together to establish Canada as a world leader in developing new products and solutions is the focus this year's CropLife Canada conference slated for Dec. 1 to 3 in Calgary.
The theme of this year's conference is "GrowCanada: sustainability, stewardship and innovation," hosted by CropLife Canada along with industry partners. Early registration is offered until Oct. 30, with details on the conference website at www.growcanadaconference.ca.
This year's conference features several high caliber speakers, including Prem Warrior from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Reform Party of Canada founder Preston Manning, Viterra President and CEO Mayo Schmidt and James Bolger who is Chair of the Advisory Board of the World Agricultural Forum.
The conference will include a range of presentations, panel discussions and viewpoints on addressing challenges in the production of food, energy, and industrial products, both domestically and internationally.
TeeJet announces new additions to FieldPilot assisted steering system

TeeJet Technologies has added several vehicle specific installation kits for its FieldPilot assisted steering system.
The FieldPilot system is designed to boost efficiency of most field operations, reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity. The new additions are designed specifically for the Hagie DTS line of sprayers, John Deere 7X20 (small frame) tractors and John Deere 6X00 series high-clearance sprayers. The kits contain all the materials necessary for installation.
The new kits are added to a list of over 50 different vehicle-specific kits designed for more than 250 vehicle models. This includes agricultural machinery including tractors, combines and self-propelled application equipment. A full list is available at www.teejet.com.
